COSTAL FORAGING ADVENTURE
GET TO GRIPS WITH SHORELINE FOOD FORAGING
Continue your foraging experience and take a step from the forest to the rocky coasts of the Atlantic Ocean where WeresieBear will show you how to find, clean and cook a range of available sea foods from Razor Clams and Mussels to Periwinkles and Limpets.
Siobhan will show you how best to find edible plant life in the often thought of inhospitable climate, while Barry, our forester, will show you how to get that beach fire going, build an underground oven and get that foraged sea food cooked to perfection.
The price of your 1 day adventure includes camp food, course instruction and basic equipment.
You'll need to bring boots, penknife, warm comfortable cloths and wet gear and be at least 16 years old.
Costal foraging can be learnt by anyone with a willingness to give it a go. We recommend that you have the courage to sample the food cooked on the camp fire. However, as this is a sea food adventure day it is not suitable to anyone with associated intolerances, allergies or other personal reasons that prevent them from consuming sea food and shellfish.
We offer our day adventures in four locations:
Cork City - Garryduff Woods
West Cork - Castlefreke.
East Cork - Marlogue Woods.
Kinsale - Dunderrow.
Please contact us for dates of your desire location.
WE MEET AT 10AM FOR INDUCTION & SAFETY INFORMATION BEFORE SETTING BASE CAMP AND HEADING TO THE ROCKY COAST TO GET UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH NATURE AND THOSE DELICIOUS SEA FOODS.
